In the Telekom Dome there are still two questions to clarify: Will the German champion and standings leader win their duel and thus end the main round with a BBL record of 32 wins and only two defeats? And who will the Munich team face in the playoff quarter-finals?
A few of the best-of-five series have been decided: Berlin (3rd) against Ulm (6th) and Vechta (4th) against Bamberg (5th).
Currently the Telekom Baskets around coach Chris O'Shea are in eighth place and will be in the running wiith seventh place Würzburg (both 34-22 points record) and Braunschweig (32-24). Bonn can play liberated in the sense that despite their 80-75 loss on Friday evening in Würzburg they clinched the playoffs. It is obvious, however, that the Rhinelanders would like to avoid playing the champions in the first round and with a victory on Sunday and they would be the seventh seed and take on second place Oldenburg.
Since the record between the teams from Bonn and Wuerzburg is even between both, the seed will depend on points scored and thus Bonn can still remain as seventh seed even with a loss against Bayern.
If Wüerzburg also loses and the Franks lose in Bamberg with at least ten points more than Bonn - or if Wuerzburg loses and Braunschweig wins against Bayreuth. Bonn would then be seventh with 3-1 victories in a three-way comparison ahead of Braunschweig (2-2) and Würzburg (1-3).
The Bavarians travel meanwhile with 13 players to Bonn and Center Leon Radosevic returns to the squad coming back from a back injury. Robin Amaize, on the other hand, is still in the process healing after his knee injury.
