Oliver Kostic has been a renowned youth development coach for many years, having worked in successful academies at Kaunas, Belgrade and most recently Bayern.
Once upon a time, Kostic was himself a promising young talent at Bosna Sarajevo, but sustained a knee injury when he was 23, after which he opted for a career in coaching.
In his time, he has worked with several successful coaches, such as Svetislav Pesic (Rome 2004-2006 and Red Star Belgrade in 2007/08). With the MBC, he was part of Henrik Dettmann’s coaching team, and he even gained experience as a head coach in Bulgaria with Sofia.
Before his role as Dejan Radonjic’s assistant, Kostic was in charge of the Bayern U19s and won the first German youth championship in 2015. He was awarded ‘Coach of the Year’. In his time with the FCBB second team, with whom he celebrated the long-sought-after promotion into the ProB, he also led many players into the senior team, such as Karim Jallow and Marvin Ogunsipe. When Radonjic took over the first team in April 2018, Kostic advanced into his coaching team.
