  • At 17 years old Danilo Barthel made his debut in Heidelberg in the second Bundesliga ProA. He finished in fifth place at EURO 2011 with the Germany U20s, and subsequently moved to Frankfurt.

    In his first season with the Skyliners, he mainly ran out for the reserves in the second Bundesliga ProB, but made 15 appearances in the BBL as well. In the 2012/2013 season, Barthel made an average appearance time of 17 minutes.

    In 2013/2014 season, it was around 28 minutes per game, and Barthel was named “Most Improved Player”. His numbers improved to 11.3 points per game with a shot percentage of 50 percent, as well as 4.9 rebounds.
    In July 2014, Barthel played in the NBA Summer League at Miami Heat, and shortly after made his only appearance to date for the Germany national team.

    At the Skyliners, Barthel established himself as an important figure in the 2014/2015 season under coach Gordon Herbert. Last season, he managed to help his team to the playoff semi-final. During their win in the third European Cup, Barthel managed on average 8.6 points and 5.1 rebounds.
